It is a sign that spring is on the way here in Berlin when elderly ladies show up on the streets selling little bunches of Lilies-of-the-Valley. They are often found at the entrances to subway stations, sitting on portable, folding stools with their wares arranged on the ground in front of them.
I took this photo last year but never got around to drawing it until now. This woman was squatting on the sidewalk, and as I passed by, I couldn't help but be drawn to the expression on her face. She spoke no German and I assume came from somewhere in eastern Europe.
