I've seen this man in our neighborhood for several years but always hesitated to ask for his photo. (Not really sure why.)
Not long ago, I met him in the pharmacy down the street and struck up a conversation. I found out that he worked as an administrator for the postal service and retired over 20 years ago.
I told him that I've seen him around for some time now, but always alone, and then asked if he was married.
"My wife passed away four years ago," he told me.
When I said that must be difficult, he said, "It's the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I just hate it."
Then he let me take his picture.
