I’ve come across this man many times over the past two or three years wheeling our big bins out to the garbage truck, and was fascinated by his face, but somehow reluctant to ask for a photo.
Not long ago, I finally worked up the guts to do that and he let me take a picture, but before I could really interview him, his co-workers began giving us dirty looks, so I just got in one question.
I asked him how long he has been doing this job and he said,
“Way too long. One more year and I can retire, and the year can’t go by fast enough, as far as I’m concerned.’
With that, he turned and hopped onto the side of the truck that was beginning to move down the street.
From the look on his face, do you get the impression that he was not too pleased with his career choice?
