I met two very nice gentlemen on a bridge overlooking a lock at the canal running through the Tiergarten. When I asked one of them if I could take his picture for a portrait, he readily agreed, and was then completely surprised when he introduced me to his “identical” twin. I could see a slight similarity in appearance, but I would never have imagined that they were twin brothers. The one I chose to draw is a retired fireman, and his twin was a garden architect. They live in Wuppertal and were visiting Berlin for the first time.
If you look at this man’s face, you might assume that he is sad or depressed, but he was anything but. Both of them were very friendly, open, and funny.
Looks can certainly be deceiving!
