I've found many good faces just outside the Berlin zoo, under a bridge, where homeless men spend their nights. While taking a photo of a somewhat interesting face, a voice behind be wanted to know what I was doing. I turned to find an even better subject and explained that I am an artist and draw portraits.
"Your from the police, right?"
"No. I'm an artist."
"Come on. I know you're from the police."
I spent the next ten minutes convincing him that I was not from the police; that I really am just an artist, and giving him money for his photo.
Even then, he gave me a very skeptical look - but a great face to draw.
