About

When I retired in 2000, we moved to Berlin and over the years here I’ve become aware that I am surrounded by so many interesting faces in this city. So I began by doing drawings of my friends and neighbors but soon realized that there were even more interesting subjects among the people I saw on the street. Summoning up the courage to ask strangers if I might take their picture was the biggest obstacle I had to overcome, and I am still often reluctant to do that – but I do manage, and usually find willing subjects, who are also ready to share a bit about their lives.
Portraits and Passages is my vehicle for sharing the faces and stories of the people in my life.

As of January 1, 2015, I have posted 55 drawings (on 6 pages) at this website.

If you would like to follow the progress of this site, I encourage you to sign in at REGISTER so that you will be notified whenever a new drawing is posted.

I hope you enjoy following Portraits and Passages as much as I love creating it.
