Christian Holz has been the house manager of our apartment building for most of the twenty years we've lived here in Berlin. He not only takes excellent care of the property and its surroundings but he also takes a personal interest in its occupants. No one who has ever needed his help has been turned down and very often he takes action before being asked. About ten years ago, our local newspaper ran a contest looking  for the best janitor in Berlin. Our entry, signed by every resident, won him first place, and he deserved it.  Christian is a well-versed handyman, a conscientious caretaker, and a nice guy to boot.
