The Entrepreneur
I met Roey (sounds like Joy) at - you guessed it - Nuri's La Petit France. Roey is an Israeli who came to Berlin 20 years ago. He spoke not a word of German, had no job, and very little money. He quickly learned the language and began working at an event managing company. With a sharp eye and out-of-the-box thinking, he recognized that there was an opening for last-minute event managing and started his own company. Within a short time, he was managing events not only in Germany but in a number of countries. During the Obama administration, he even did a conference at the White House and, just before the pandemic put a temporary end to his business, Roey had developed a team of over 60 highly motivated workers and a sizeable bank account. Looking at his portrait you would most likely not imagine that he is an extremely successful entrepreneur.
